ANN MACHIELS (2002, SOFIA)

I make film and video installations about psychiatry, aliëns and talking assholes. Through world- and character building I explore the field of psychiatry with a dialectical lens. Themes such as the medicalisation and de-politicization of psycho-emotional health are central in my practice. I use fiction as a tool for mad resistance. Leaving the viewer with more questions than answers and a lingering feeling of unease.
